New emerald heroes with surprising powers

Now that the set for this chapter 6 has been released in full, we can finally define the colors to which these new additions belong. Thus, Emerald is the premier to see some superheroes in armor arrive. And what we can say is that they do not intend to make up the numbers.

Let’s start this overview with perhaps the card less interesting in the person ofAlister Krei which allows its owner to gain a lore point if his opponent has a objet. A summary effect which, coupled with some not very crazy statistics, does not allow Alister to be considered a good element.

Next comes the charming Honey Lemon which will delight discard decks. For an additional cost of 2, it allows you to do discard the opponent of a card. She has good statistics for a round two, but for a round four, she seems a little fair to be seriously integrated into a Steel/Emeraldto be tested.

This was without counting on the arrival of Fredturn 1 perfect for a deck aggro Emeraude. The guy allows, if challenged, to earn 2 lore points to its owner. Being able to value at 1, it assures its owner of gain 3 lore points for only 1 cost. It also has the good taste of being encrablewhich these good old Merfolk are not.

Finally, it’s good To Go Tomago which is likely to turn many heads. Beyond being a tour 2 elusiveit allows, for two additional costs, to earn as many lore points than number of damage points on an opposing character. What to bring back lore at a distance and surprise an opponent at the end of the game to accelerate even faster towards victory. Enough to weigh a menace constant on your opponent if the latter tends to keep his injured characters in play for too long.

Thus, the new heroes have made a small place for themselves within the emerald color without revealing any strategy particular, each bringing a different effect. It was without counting on the Sapphire which is garnished with the greatest number of cards from the license and whose effects seem to give pride of place to the objects.

The sapphire in the colors of San Fransokyo

It’s not four, but eleven new characters of the New Heroes which appear in the Saphir color of Lorcana. Based on keyword mechanics Robots and Inventorsthe latter also, and above all, give pride of place to objects. In a suit that already largely favors this type of card, this can only bode well for a good number of them who will deserve to be thoroughly tested to find a place in the most popular decks meta of the game.

Among the most interesting of them, we can first of all mention the big villain of the film in the person of Yokai. Finding three different versions in this new set, including one that is quite classicbut it is in these two other versions that it seems to be the most interesting.

Its 3-person version allows you to return one of your items in hand and so decrease of two the cost of your next item. Enough to pay a penny fetish cheaper or simply resend and replay a water ice for free and give you a free draw. But it is above all to serve as alteration support to its version at 9 that this card finds all its interest.

Able to alter for 6, this character, with monstrous statistics of 6 strength and 10 willpower, allows you to draw as soon as he is sent on an adventure to each opposing character having zero strength. Complicated, you might say? Well not so much if it is coupled with its microrobotsa new object in this set 6 and which Yokai can play for free.

These latter reduce thus the attack of a character when they are played, and this, in proportion to the number of microrobots in play. The latter do not not counting towards your deck’s card limitwe will test their interest concretely over the coming weeks.

Speaking of mass objects on the ground, it is indeed Hiro’s big brother, namely Tadashi who will benefit the most from their presence on the ground.

For a cost of 6, Tadashi sees his strength and his will increase by 1 per object present on your land. Enough to climb quickly in an aggressive item deck or a potentially interesting microbot deck?

Its version for 3 remains a very good card to crawl. If he is banned during an opponent’s turn, which will mostly be the case, Tadashi allows you toink the first card of your deck then ink itself instead of going to discard. An interesting double ink for a character bringing two lore points every turn if your opponent decides to ignore it. What to be winner every time.

The little brother, for his part, does not seem to have been as spoiled as him.

Present in two versions in this set, Hiro does not seem to be doing well. Its version for 4 allows you to give résistance +1 to other characters inventors and of look the top card of the deck for a cost of two. We will therefore always prefer Big Ben giving resistance +1 to all characters without exception and having the good taste of being out of reach.

Its version for 3 will go search for a robot or object for two extra cost to place it on top of the deck. An effect therefore relatively uninteresting and expensive for its effectiveness.

Speaking of robots, we haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting this dear BaymaxHiro’s friendly robot assistant.

If his companion was not very lucky, Baymax was he a little more spoiled.

In addition to its 3-player version (potentially 2 if you already have an inventor in play) which allows you to heal a character for a cost of 2, Baymax was awarded the legendary card slot with its 5-player version.

Beyond his amazing illustration paying homage to this character as endearing as he is powerful, the legendary version of Baymax offers a very interesting effect to know take care of two a wounded character and earn as many lore points than wounds treated in this way. An effect to say the least originala sort of Rapunzel of the lore which will allowspeed up your points while patching up your land. A most interesting card that will be good to test even if its two strengths leave it at the mercy of far too many management cards…

THE New heroes thus make an arrival shattering in the world of Lorcana, more convincing than that of Wreck-It Ralph to the previous set. New archetypes, characters with effects at once surprising and varied and the consolidation of an archetype already well established, this is the recipe for success for these newcomers who will, over the coming days, assert themselves within the tough meta from Lorcana.
