As part of its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Disneyland Paris has implemented a new service for visitors disabled to facilitate communication.
After the launch of audio description in 2022 and Virtuoz tactile maps in 2023, two devices for visually impaired and blind people, Disneyland Paris now offers a service for visitors with a communication disorder.
This device, an image bank representing key elements of the destination – attractions, shows, Disney Characters, merchandising, or even types of food – allows the user to communicate about their needs and desires by creating destination sentences. of those accompanying them with the elements described by the images.
The Disneyland Paris image bank complements the pictograms that our visitors already use to communicate in their daily lives, or can be used independently. It is free and downloadable in French and English on the page dedicated to the accessibility of the destination of the disneylandparis.com site. Visitors have the opportunity to prepare these images before their visit and to familiarize themselves with them for use in our destination.
This image bank is the result of joint work between the Visitor Accessibility teams at Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and two consultants specializing in the subject, and will have taken 12 months of research and design. Disneyland Paris is now the first theme park in France offering this service.
This service is in addition to many others implemented over time as part of our ongoing commitment to allow each visitor to have the best possible experience: audio description of attractions, restaurants, certain shows; interpretation in French sign language and Chansigne of certain shows; accessibility guides and plans; priority access cards; and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
