An immense actor, Philippe Torreton carries and directs the text of Jean Genet, the tightrope walkerwhich addresses questions about creation, commitment, and self-denial. The two performances planned at the Théâtre de Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique) Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 November 2024 are not (yet) complete.
A mix of text and music
The text of Tightrope walkerwritten in the spring of 1957, is dedicated to Abdallah Bentaga, tightrope walker and companion of Jean Genet. This text symbolizes a return to light and to writing for Genet after an intense personal and artistic crisis. It is through magnificent and fiery writing that he addresses advice to his lover to reach the heights of his art.
A show that Philippe Torreton performs and directs by continuing this delicious text/music mixture that he had already experimented with, this time inviting the guitarist and pianist Boris Boublil, passionate about electronic instruments and fildefériste Julien Posada, breathtaking precision for a pure moment of creation.
