Margot Robbie listens to the soundtrack of “Titanic” (1997) every time she has to cry in a movie. This was revealed by the “Barbie” actress on “Talking Pictures: A Movie Memories Podcast.”
“I just need to hear the musical theme from “Titanic” for me to start crying,” said the actress, who had her first child at the beginning of November. So that’s what I do on set if I need to cry in a scene.”
James Cameron’s romantic epic, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, features a score by James Horner, who also composed the famous song “My Heart Will Go On,” performed by Celine Dion. Margot Robbie also revealed that she had a “surreal” experience when she used her method to cry on the set of “The Wolf of Wall Street” in 2013, because Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet heard her listening the original soundtrack.
“There was the big crazy scene after I filed for divorce and all that. And Kate Winslet came on set to visit Leo that day. I was in the room next to them, listening to the “Titanic” soundtrack, trying to stay in sad, tearful mode. And then I saw Kate Winslet and Leo walking past me. It was really surreal,” recalls the Australian actress.
Titanic won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Original Score and Best Original Song for “My Heart Will Go On,” which remains one of the best-selling singles of all time. It is the most requested and acclaimed song of Celine Dion’s career. The title also won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song as well as four Grammy Awards.
