“It’s over, I’m stopping”, the singer reveals why he will never be a coach of The Voice again

Mika makes an unexpected announcement

It was there that he dropped an unexpected announcement: “In France, it’s over, I’m stopping all my TV shows in France.” Mika, who lit up the small screen with his energy and spontaneity, seems determined to end an important part of his career. For fans of The Voice, this announcement marks a turning point. Mika was a key element of the TF1 show, sitting in the famous red chair from 2014 to 2019, then during the last season in 2023. His return was welcomed by the public, in particular thanks to his caring approach and his talent for spotting promising artists, such as Kendji Girac, of which he was the first and only one to turn around.

But now Mika wants to focus on other aspects of her life and career. “As a host, but as a singer you will continue”, Nagui then asked. To which Mika replied: “Yes, of course, as a singer and to come and speak.” “You don't want the chair to turn around anymore, you want the chair to stay upright and you can talk quietly. Is that it?”summarized Nagui with humor. Mika validated this explanation, thus concluding an important chapter in his artistic life.

A renewed jury for 2025

The absence of Mika in the next edition of The Voice, scheduled for 2025, paves the way for a new jury. Florent Pagny, emblematic figure of the show, will return to his chair, accompanied by two new recruits: Patricia Kaas et Zaz. Vianney, now a regular, will complete this new team, which will have to take up the challenge of succeeding Mika and his unique charisma.

For Mika, this choice seems to be dictated by a need to find balance. Currently sponsor of the Telethon, which will take place on November 29 and 30, he remains committed to important causes while pursuing his musical career. By turning her back on television shows, Mika now favors authenticity and simplicity. This decision, although unexpected, is part of a desire to reconnect with the essence of his profession: music and the direct link with his audience.
