Friday evening, 400 people took their places on the floor of the Callac village hall to discover the results of this day which, in a new formula, replaces the old format of the PLB Muco.

Beyond the financial success of the day, Daniel Bercot, founding president of the La Pierre Le Bigaut – Cystic Fibrosis associationdrew up a very largely positive assessment, in terms of participation and atmosphere, “which encourages us to organize a 2nd edition next year. The date chosen is Saturday June 28, 2025.

“Our partners have not given up on us”

The 2024 edition allowed the association to raise exactly €279,017. An operating reserve of €22,730 being retained, €256,287 is therefore donated for research against cystic fibrosis.

“After the decision to downsize, compared to the previous three decades, we were pleased to see that our sponsors, our partners, communities, donors and associations organizing events on our behalf, did not give up on us. », rejoiced Daniel Bercot.

“Since 1992, we have been slowly approaching the 14 million euros donated to our fight against cystic fibrosis.”

Significant support for INSERM in

The solidarity day of June 29 alone made it possible to raise €103,386, but, “thanks to the fifty partner actions which allowed us to raise €86,000, and to the partnerships, sponsorship and patronage, which bring us nearly of €48,000, the net result amounts to just over €279,000”.

Building on this success, La Pierre Le Bigaut – Cystic fibrosis will thus be able to make its contribution to the financing of six Breton research projects carried out by the Inserm unit in Brestunder the aegis of the Gaëtan Saleün association, as well as for the financing of several cystic fibrosis resource and skills centers.

“We are also co-financing, with the Region, the purchase of cellular imaging equipment, worth €170,000, for Professor Tristan Montier’s unit,” adds Daniel Bercot, before recalling that we “still no cure for cystic fibrosis. Hence the importance of continuing to support the research and care teams working to defeat the disease.”

This is why a second edition of the PLB Muco solidarity day is already scheduled for Saturday June 28, 2025.
