Revisited by Thomas Jolly and again on tour, Starmania celebrates its 45th anniversary on France Télévisions.
Troupe
Created in 1979 by Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger, Starmaniathe first French rock opera, remains an incredible success, almost unimaginable at its beginnings. It tells of the desires for emancipation of a group of young people in Monopolis, the great capital of the West whose presidency is coveted by Zéro Janvier.
Adapted numerous times, it is now revisited in a version by Thomas Jolly with choreography by the Belgian Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. A more modern format for a musical show which is full of essential songs and highlights themes that are still relevant today: depression, suicide, success, money…
A visionary musical show celebrated this Saturday on the Agora stage in Quebec, with the current troupe and a host of artists (Bruel, Diane Tell, Fabienne Thibeault) who came to cover the greatest pieces.
It is also an opportunity to delve back into the archives and pay tribute to those Starmania propelled stars (Daniel Balavoine, France Gall, Maurane…) and discover the little secrets behind this phenomenon which has become a pop object.
Broadcast on November 16 at 9:10 p.m. on France 2
