Fire-Fly is the name of the brand new rock group from Caligny, and who intends to panic the counters everywhere in Orne.

It brings together three generations around the same passion, music.

An intergenerational meeting

Composed of Jeremy Moru on drums, Pascal Mary and Louis Bon on guitar, Valentin Tardif on bass, and Élodie Coquelin on song, Fire-Fly dreams big.

In its ranks, Jeremy and Pascal are former members of the group Anoxie, well known from the French punk scene of the 80s and 90s.

They notably provided opening acts for artists such as Jean-Louis Aubert and this is not their first attempt.

The formation of the group

«  We found each other like that, by chance. Valentin was replacing people in groups, I left Pomelo and Pascal saw that I no longer had a group,” explains Élodie.

This chance meeting gave birth to a musical synergy, with each member bringing their experience and influences.

We rehearse every other weekend together and each at home.

Elodie Coquelin.

This organization allows Fire-Fly to reconcile the varied schedules of its members while maintaining an effective group dynamic.

From covers to original compositions

For now, Fire-Fly is dedicated to rock covers from the 70s to 2000with inspirations drawn from Led Zeppelin, Dolly, the Rolling Stones and even Sinatra.

They are able to last between 1h30 and 1h45 of show, with a repertoire of 16 historical titles, as well as 3 new titles covers planned for their next concert.

We take inspiration from titles and pieces that are not too well known. We try to find original pieces.

Pascal Mary.

However, the group does not intend to stop with covers and aims to create his own compositions. “When composing, it’s me who brings the melody,” explains Pascal Mary.

While let Élodie take care of the texts. Everyone’s contribution is therefore essential in this creative process.

“The goal is to be able to have our own compositions, to be able to perform on stage and find our audience. It’s the energy of the people that is great,” concludes Élodie Coquelin.
