Seventeen monumental works are exhibited in the city’s emblematic places and at the Moulin Gautron where its most beautiful bronzes, marbles and its Royal Tiger in crystal (collaboration with the Baccarat house), are unveiled for the first time.
A few people from the public gave their impressions. From the smallest to the largest, the works are unanimous.
Michel and Anne, two Vertavians aged 80 and 74 declared: “We like it, it’s very pretty. Animals are well placed in the city. We will go to the Moulin Gautron to see the works exhibited at night with lights. »
Capucine and Louison, aged 9 and 7, unanimously declared: “It’s magnificent!” They look like living animals. Animals will open the hearts of many people who will want to defend nature. »
Frédérique and Isabelle, 57 and 56 years old, from Nantes. “We are excited about their round shape. We have the impression that they are real teddy bears, our friends, our pals. The gorilla, in front of the library, has strong expressions. We love the poses, the physiognomies, the very natural, slightly childish, but comforting attitudes. The sculptures are of different colors which add picturesqueness to the city.”
For the WWF representative, “art and nature bear witness to the beauty of the world, which we must protect because we are part of it. WWF is associated with this exhibition because it defends the animals represented here and the support of our members helps us to participate in such actions.”
