Kev Adams is opening a comedy club in Brussels from November 27.
French actor and comedian Kev Adams, as well as B.wise production manager Laurent Boschloos, are opening a comedy club in the capital from November 27. This place dedicated to stand-up aims to be a “a real springboard for the Belgian comedy scene“.
“Our desire is to leave room for Belgian comedians, while bringing a breath of fresh air to the Brussels scene with French artists little known in Belgium“, underlined Laurent Boschloos. According to him, the Fridge – which will be completely renovated within a few days – could stand out from most Brussels comedy clubs in that it offers a “large room, with a real stagee”.
A real springboard for the Belgian comedy scene
On the programming side, the idea is to aim for a “50-50” in terms of the proportion of French and Belgian artists. Even if, sometimes, French comedians could be a little more numerous, explains the producer. “From Tuesday to Saturday evening, it will be possible to attend two one-hour sets, each occupied by five different artists who will follow one another to make the Brussels public laugh“, says the Fridge Comedy Club.
Give local talent a chance
Located on Boulevard du Midi, the place “will give local talents the chance to perform in front of a varied audience and to rub shoulders with comedians from all over France, thus creating a place of exchange, discovery and inspiration“, promise the founders.
Several names of comedians have already been announced, including Alex Fredo, Ilyes Djadel, Emy, Nick Mukoko, Charly Nyobe, Alexandra Roth. Belgians also appear on the program, including Serine Ayari, Sacha Ferra and Sarah Lélé.
As for the arrival of Kev Adams during the opening of the Fridge, Laurent Boschloos can already confirm that the French comedian will be present “two days between November 27 and 30“, leaving the exact dates a surprise.
