classical at Château Giscours with Julie Berthollet, French song with Jean-Marc Sauvagnargues in Lacanau

DIn his field, he is a star with an international reputation. Julie Berthollet will meet this Sunday, November 17 at 4 p.m. at Château Giscours, in the town of Labarde. With his violin, as part of an exceptional concert organized by the Musique au Cœur du Médoc (MACM) association, the artist should delight the public by performing the most beautiful works of Schubert, Handel, Brahms and Kreisler. To accompany him, another great representative of classical will be present. François Salque on cello integrates masterfully into the duets. At the end of October, he played with the pianist Xénia Maliarévitch, his partner in life. The demonstration took place at the Branaire-Ducru castle. This was the first event of the new season concocted by MACM.

Julie Berthollet, 26, is described by the specialized press as an artist “endowed with exceptional talent and limitless creativity”. The musician began playing the violin at the age of 4 and learning the piano at 8. In duo with her younger sister Camille, she is a regular on international tours. The two virtuosos, admirers of both Bach and Gainsbourg, even collaborated with Grand Corps Malade on the opus entitled “Mesdames”. It is therefore Julie, without her partner, who will come to the Médoc to offer the public a moment of poetry. Yves Di Tullio, the president of MACM, recalls that “the arrival of Julie Berthollet is part of the association’s desire to bring one headliner per musical season to the region”. In October 2023, it was the violinist Renaud Capuçon who traveled to Château Giscours.

A tribute to Michel Berger

In Lacanau, in a completely different style, the public will also be able to attend an original concert given by Jean-Marc Sauvagnargues, who is the drummer, manager, and singer of the atypical French rock comedy group Les Fatals Picards. In the Escoure room, Sunday November 17, at 5 p.m., the artist will pay tribute to Michel Berger, a great name in French music who died in August 1992, struck down by a heart attack after a game of tennis. In the press, Jean-Marc Sauvagnargues specifies that he is “an absolute fan” of the man who was notably the composer of the famous rock opera Starmania, and hits like “Le Paradis Blanc”, “La Groupie du pianiste”, “Diego, libre dans sa tête”, etc.

Coline Jamait

After having produced an album “Your piano dances always”, during the confinement period, Jean-Marc Sauvagnargues offers solo concerts. He plays the piano and sings Berger’s songs and, through them, recounts the different moments of his idol’s career. This musical time should take the public back to the hits of the 1970s and 1980s. The younger generation will also have the opportunity to discover melodies that have influenced new talents like Tal and Shy’m, who cover his songs alongside their elders Christophe Willem, Raphaël, Élodie Frégé or Nolwenn Leroy.
