Discs. The Vaughan brothers, geniuses of blues guitar, reissued

Everyone has heard this guitar before. At least via “Let’s Dance” by David Bowie, on which Stevie Ray Vaughan, 28, shines as a luxury sessionman. The same year (1983), this musical prodigy had a musical dialogue with blues legend Albert King, during a session for Canadian TV. On “Born under a Bad Sign” and “Texas Flood”, they are close to the stars.

Before dying at age 35 in a helicopter crash in August 1990, Stevie recorded “Family Style” with his older brother Jimmie. When Stevie Ray died, Jimmie Vaughan broke up with his Fabulous Thunderbirds and did not return to the studio until four years later. With the help of Dr John, he recorded a gospel-tinged “Strange Pleasure”, which he dedicated to Stevie and Albert King, who died in 1993. Out of print for many years, “Strange Pleasure” also reappeared.
