“I make you my essential” or “Being up to the task” will resonate again in Geneva twenty years later. The musical show “The Sun King”, produced by Dove Attia and directed by Kamel Ouali, celebrates two decades of its creation by going on tour again in a brand new, unpublished version. It will stop at the Arena on May 2, 2026. The ticket office is already open.
While “The Sun King”, which follows the journey and loves of Louis XIV, will return on December 4 in Paris, we still do not know who will be part of the troupe. Launched in 2005 at the Palais des Sports, the musical revealed Emmanuel Moire, who played the title role, and Christophe Maé, who played Philippe de France, and brought together more than 1.6 million spectators in 380 performances.
Like “The Sun King”, other cult French comedies have returned to storm the stages. “The Ten Commandments”, created in 2000, will return to the Geneva Arena on December 7, while the performances of “Notre Dame de Paris” and “Starmania” (modernized and enhanced by Thomas Jolly) have already taken place.
