Emotion in the country of Morlaix: the creative musician and cook Gabriel Dilasser has passed away

Unanimously appreciated in the cultural community of the country of Morlaix, the musician and cook Gabriel Dilasser died at the age of 51, at his home in Kermeur, in Plougonven, surrounded by his loved ones, on the night of Tuesday 12 to Wednesday November 13, 2024, after a long illness. After studying photography, the man his loved ones called “Gab” became a musician. Bassist of the group John Trap which he founded with his high school friend Thomas Lucas, he attended the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC) in Morlaix where he is remembered as “a wonderful and very creative person”. He participated in the group’s three albums and turned professional in 1999.

In 2000, the group won the Tremplin des Jeunes Charrues. “Our collaboration has never really stopped in thirty years of friendship,” explains Thomas Lucas. “He participated in my last film released in August 2024 with his daughter Violette Dilasser,” he recalls. His talent also earned him the opportunity to join musician Jacques Creignou’s group Poor Boy.

From music to cooking

Ten years ago, he turned to cooking. He learned about the culinary art from, among others, his friend Amaury de Ternay. There he will develop the same requirements and qualities as in his life as a musician and a man: creativity, ethics and attention to others. This faithful man favors organic and local products, putting himself at the service of the excellence of the products he enhances. Event caterer, he works for cultural structures. At the Roudour space, “we consider him a full member of the team”.

I cook like my music. With all my heart.

With his experience as a musician, he will be able to understand the expectations of the artists he has before the concerts. Charlelie Couture, Piers Faccini and many others will publicly pay tribute to this talented man who said: “I cook like my music. With all my heart. »
