The Dacquois group Avanti will share the bill with the Mons vocal ensemble Chor’us, Sunday November 17, in the Saint-Vincent de Xaintes church at 3:30 p.m.
An offshoot created in 2020 from the evolution of the Chor’elles women’s choir, Chor’us is made up of around twenty choristers evolving under the baton of Florence Vigier, trained at the Bordeaux conservatory. Her numerous artistic and professional practices have led Florence to build solid experience as a musician. She arranges and harmonizes most of the songs performed a cappella, in three, four or five voices, or accompanied by guitar or piano. The repertoire is intended to be eclectic, bringing together world songs, religious pieces, gospel, and contemporary songs.
Chor’us will have the honor of the first part with the liturgy of “Pie Jesu” (Victor Johnson), “Man is born of a woman”, a prayer by Henry Purcell, the poetry of Gabriel Fauré, or even a Notre -Father in Maori, “Baba Yetu”. The gospel of “Guide my feet” will be invited as well as a Spanish medley.

Led by conductor Pierre Marti, the Dacquois ensemble Avanti and its 15 singers will perform in the second part. Eclecticism on the program: He will bring his rigorous sacred register with “Ubi Caritas”, a beautiful piece by Gordon Young in “Alleluia Jesus Christe” and “Cantus Iteratus”. The Iberian touch to continue with the well-known “Besame mucho” and “De colores”. The male gender will perform the partigiani of “Bella Ciao” and another struggle song, “Porta romana”. French variety will not be outdone with the appropriate “Feuilles Mortes”, the incisive humor of the Jacques Brothers and a tribute to the poet Trenet, father of “Sun and Moon”.
