The AlimenTerre and FestiSol festivals are back in the Centre-Val de Loire region with multiple events, notably organized around and in Orléans (Loiret).

AlimenTerre Festival

Focused on global food issuesthis event will last untilto Saturday November 30, 2024.

This edition opens new debates on agricultural and food issues thanks to the screening of nine films selected for this purpose:

• “Until the end of the world” – Directed by Francesco De Augustinis (2024) / English with French subtitles
• “The boxer theory” – Directed by Nathanaël Coste (2024) / French
• “The evils of our diet” – Directed by Clément Lefer, Maud Koenig O’Carroll, Christophe Guérin (2023) / French, Spanish with French subtitles
• “Razzia on the Atlantic” – Directed by Nicolas Van Ingen (2023) / French
• “Blue gold, green gold: the tears of a valley” – Directed by Anaïs Mariotti (2023) / Spanish with French subtitles
• “Peasant kindness” – Directed by Oliver Dickinson / 2023 / Oliver Dickinson / 45’/ French
• “Tomorrow, the valley” – Film by Jérôme Prudent (2024) / French
• “The Last Seed” – Film directed by Andréa Gema (2022) / English, Jola, Swahili, subtitled in French
• “Wildfire” – Film directed by André Chandelle and Patrick Remacle (2024) / French

They will be in particular broadcast at the CFA de Bellegarde, the Lycée en Forêt de Montargis and the Lycée Duhamel du Monceau in Pithiviers.

The Solidarity Festival

Also called FestiSol, this event takes place from Friday November 15 to Sunday December 1, 2024. It aims to raise awareness and mobilize the public around issues of human rights and sustainable development.

The theme of this new edition is “The environment and people’s rights”. Here are the activities planned around and in Orléans:

• Film Debate “Bigger than us” (feature-length documentary) – Friday November 15, 2024 at 3 p.m. at the International Youth Center (CIJ) in Orléans
• Workshop, game and activities on women’s rights and access to water (All public) – Saturday November 16, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Saveurs et Talents in Saint-Jean-de-Braye
• “Solidarity in the public space” outdoor stands on several themes, games for children, songs and dances from the Felave’ifiafia group from Wallis and Futuna (All public) – Saturday November 23, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Place du Châtelet in Orléans / Free
• Flash tour of the Orléans Museum of Fine Arts – Saturday November 23, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. / Paid entry

• Film debate on the film “Aya” (2021) – Tuesday November 26, 2024 from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the MOBE in Orléans / Free and all audiences
• Meeting on the rights of indigenous peoples (All public) – Thursday November 28, 2024 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Anna Marly Media Library in Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle
• Exhibition “Ecology, an issue of social justice” – Throughout the duration of the festival at the Anna Marly Media Library in Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle
• Solidarity concert by the O’Feeling group – Friday November 29, 2024 at 8:30 p.m. at the MJC d’Olivet – The steam mill / Free entry and all public
• Associative forum and photo exhibitions on the environment and the rights of peoples, closing party of the festival and spectacle “Anita Farmine en trio” – Saturday November 30, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at L’Unisson in Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle / All audiences
