Fish & Films is the festival of British and Norman short film. The 4e edition is organized in Granville, in Manche, from Thursday November 28 to Sunday 1is December 2024.

27 short films screened

27 short films will be projected, reflecting “various points of view on the world, ecology, difference, relationships”, present Maryline, Flora and Pauline, the organizers of the event.

Apart from the screenings, the festival also includes meetings, exhibitions, concerts and workshops. Here are the highlights of these four days.

An opening session full of surprises on Thursday evening

An opening session full of surprises is what the organizers promise.
See you at the cinema The Select, one of the seven festival locations, Thursday, November 28, from 8 p.m., for the screening of the “Performance” program, composed of five short films around creation, movement and performance.

A concert with a local group on Friday evening

Friday is musical evening at Fish & Films. Meet at 8:30 p.m. at the yacht club for a concert by the South Channel group, The Flat Sharps.

An evening soul and funk to warm you up, with legendary covers, from Stevie Wonder to Otis Redding to Ann Peebles.

For meals, Fresil Marée will be exceptionally present on the terrace of the yacht club.

And don’t miss out on testing la Fish & Beer, a beer specially designed for the festival, by Arthur Poisson, a brewer from La Manche. A free evening.

An evening to vote for your favorite film, Saturday evening

On Saturday, at 8 p.m., meet at Sélect for the screening of the “competition 1” program, followed by an exchange with the filmmakers present and the public vote. Seven films are scheduled. Remember to bring your pencil! Price: €5.50.

Film concert and awards ceremony on Sunday

A film concert awaits you on Sunday, at Le Sélect, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the participation of the Granville Terre et Mer music school. It will be followed by a cine-lantern, proposed by Anne Gourdet-Marès. A captivating show that combines magic lantern projection and early cinematographic films. Price: €5.50.

The same day, at the same place, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., don’t miss the closing session. On the program, screenings and the award ceremony of the festival, the famous three Trofish, who will decide between 13 films in competition: that of the public, the jury and high school and university students.
