BANQUE POPULAIRE FOUNDATION & GALLERY 3rd EDITION: WHEN COMES IN RESIDENCE – Consonews

The Banque Populaire Gallery in Rabat inaugurated its new cultural and artistic season in
hosting, until February 28, 2025, the exhibition “When comes to residence”, point
organ of the 3rd edition of the artistic residency organized by the Fondation Banque Populaire.
The opening which took place on November 8 was an opportunity to reward the three best
paintings exhibited among those of the eight young talents who participated in the residency.
This event was attended by Ms. Naziha Belkeziz, President and CEO of
BCP group, Mr. Jalil Sebti, General Manager of the Commercial Bank, Mr. Kamal Mokdad,
Managing Director of BCP and International, Mr. Adil Rzal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank
Popular of Rabat-Kénitra, Ms. Houda Laaraj, Secretary General of the Bank Foundation
Popular, as well as several personalities from the world of art, economics and politics.
This summer, the Banque Populaire Holiday Center in Bouznika brought together eight young artists This

talented, from the Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan and the Higher School of Fine Arts
de Casablanca. Ainsi, Fatima Ezzahra Khilad, Imane Laaribi, Dounia Tabti, Ibtissam Zahir, Zouhair
Chihad, Mouad El Bissaoui, Soufiane Mezraoui and Soufiane Nait Addi, were able to work around the
theme “The World of Tomorrow”.
Supervised by renowned professionals, these young creators benefited from three weeks,
master classes and screen printing and pottery workshops, all complemented by visits to
museums and galleries to nourish their artistic reflection. This inspiring setting offered them the
freedom to explore various approaches in accordance with their artistic sensibilities.
The final works revealed converging aesthetic and conceptual perspectives,
showing great originality. Four artists focused on themes related to
heritage, memory, nostalgia, traditional arts and geometry. Others have
addressed introspective issues such as the human condition, temperament and ego, as well as
as human expressiveness through morphopsychology. An artist, for her part, proposed a
psycho-sociological reflection on feelings about daily life.
Selected for their technical and artistic qualities as well as the originality and innovation of
their work, these young talents saw their works presented to the general public, offering a
showcase of their talent and artistic vision. Three artists distinguished themselves and received, during
of the opening, the Fondation Banque Populaire Prize for young artists: Soufiane Nait Addi,
Zouheir Chihad and Imane Laaribi with respective rewards of 50,000 DH, 30,000 DH and
20.000 DH.
Through this program, the BCP group reaffirms its commitment to promoting art and culture
in Morocco. It continues to support young artists by offering them the ideal conditions to
develop and express their creativity, thus contributing to the enrichment of the artistic scene
nationale.
