Tuesday, Pascal Praud received Jordan Bardella on CNews. The star journalist from Vincent Bolloré’s channel interviewed the president of the RN about the release of his book, “What I’m looking for”.
But, against all expectations, on a channel which hardly hides its sympathies for the extreme right, Pascal Praud was somewhat mishandled by Jordan Bardella, after a remark from the presenter concerning the young politician’s participation on the show on Saturday evening. from France 2, “What a time!”
“You want to please the media system. You went to Léa Salamé’s house on Saturday evening, on public service. You want to convince people who do not adhere to the National Rally that they could vote for the National Rally tomorrow,” said Praud, surprisingly playing Bardella’s advisor.
“You want – I don’t know if this is the right strategy – for the system to love you. I have no advice to give you but I say “be careful”, because they will never like you,” added the CNews journalist.
Jordan Bardella then responded immediately: “If I don’t launch the book promotion with you, am I necessarily addressing the system? If I don’t do the launch on CNews, and I go on public service in a program which is watched by 1 million French people and which is paid for with our taxes, am I going to the system?
And to continue: “There is a TV show which invites me, which has an audience of 1 million, which is paid for by our taxes and I believe that it is also our duty to go and confront people who are on these sets and perhaps to people who don’t think like us.”
Jordan Bardella also reminded Pascal Praud, visibly a little embarrassed, of a small feat of arms to show him that he did not have the infused knowledge: “I remember that during the presidential election, you made projections policies that are not completely proven true in the French vote. You praised Éric Zemmour for example and his way of doing politics. Do you remember it? You praised Éric Zemmour’s way of doing politics and then Éric Zemmour made 7%.
Then, Pascal Praud attacked, still on the subject of “What a time!”, a humorous column by Philippe Caverivière: “Éric Ciotti was attacked in a disgusting way in the show, disgusting. He was attacked on his physique. We allow ourselves with people on the right what we would not allow ourselves with people on the left. You didn’t say anything!”, the CNews star took offense.
Here again, an immediate response from Jordan Bardella, who had a good laugh during the column in question: “We are in a country of freedom, we still have the right to make humor on a television set. You can’t tell me because there was a comedian who made a joke about Eric Ciotti and I didn’t get up when leaving the set that I’m submitting to political correctness. It’s a little short.” Praud was speechless.
