This week he is playing at home.

Laurent Brethome, who directed this second Young Audience show, does not shy away from his pleasure in offering this new creation, at home, in Vendée, at the Italian Theater on rue Allende.

“That’s where I was born in the theater,” he remembers. “And I wanted greater proximity to the public than the Manège offers.”

For these five performances in La Roche-sur-Yon, the tickets were sold in the blink of an eye, so much so that Le Grand R, which programs the show, added a date to satisfy the public.

An environmentalist fable

The Water Girl“ecological fable for children, adolescents and intelligent adults”, specifies Laurent Brethome, is freely inspired by the little-known Grimm tale, The Ondine of the pond.

Written by Antoine Herniotte, the play tells the story of Léa and “a poetic and fantastic metamorphosis on the emancipation of a young woman who knows how to break her chains”, indicates the synopsis of the Scène nationale.

A noted aesthetic richness

Around twenty professionals – including a visual artist – worked on this project of remarkable aesthetic richness.

“I wanted to create images that people don’t forget.
