Spotlight in Hennebont on children’s literature

help you grow

Children’s literature is a true, inexhaustible treasure. It allows children to talk about the world and address all aspects of life. It’s an excellent way to open minds, to make people think, to bring opinions together.” underlines Catherine Christin, of the Brind’lire jeunesse association.

Alongside him, Françoise Toanen, former teacher and vice-president, adds: This is one of the best assets for academic success: vocabulary enrichment (twice as elaborate in children who are read to frequently before the age of two)better understanding of the subtleties of the language.

All equal

The second edition of 1001 children’s books aims to highlight a theme that appears essential to them. Even more essential at a time when we talk a lot about school bullying that of the place and respect for everyone. This theme will be presented in reading, in a network, under three aspects: “All different, with physical aspects and lifestyle”; “This difference surprises, can be frightening and sometimes, we make fun of it”; “But everyone has a wealth to bring to this world. Difference is strength. »

Saturday’s meeting will be festive, with numerous workshops in which we will be able to listen to stories in different forms: Reading albums, kamishibai, reading mats, independent pleasure reading”, says Françoise Toanen.

A facilitator will create stories from little characters from all over the world. And, of course, children will be able to make, write, draw and play. As a reminder, children must be accompanied.

Partners

With the support of the City and the neighborhood center, two associations are in charge: Brind’Lire jeunesse and Amélire. The first has been in the field for ten years and promotes children’s literature in schools. Sometimes in conjunction with associations as was the case last year with the Hennebont-Halhul twinning committee (Palestine).

Jacqueline Benais, from the Amélire association, defines its direction: Since 2002, we have been working to promote books and the written word. By adopting a popular education approach, we strive to create a bank of tools to promote reading and writing practices among the most deprived populations. You just need to be an Amélire member to be able to borrow these tools.

Saturday November 16, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Kérihouais neighborhood center. Open to all. Free.
