a restitution born from the meeting of students with two artists in Bazas

It was through a travel diary that, Thursday, November 7, the first STAV (Sciences and technology of agronomy and life) of the Terres de Gascogne agricultural high school finalized the work carried out with the musician Emmanuelle Troy and the writer Olivier Ka.

Students confided, “for two days, we worked with these artists who introduced us to their worlds. Last Wednesday, Olivier Ka, children’s writer and comic book scriptwriter, gave us brushes or markers so that we could create interior drawings from photos and exterior drawings by observing the natural landscape.

Accompanied by a musical improvisation by Emmanuelle Troy, vocal adventurer and multi-instrumentalist, the students presented their drawings with captions, such as “You have to know how to be satisfied with what is necessary” while talking about a cabin or even “A traffic which takes us to see magnificent landscapes” when speaking of the nine-seater utility vehicle.

The students wanted to thank “Mrs O’Reilly, our teacher, for her support and the various financial partners who allowed us to experience this adventure”. She, a sociocultural education teacher, presents the project: “The young people did a wonderful job. They took the time to observe and naturally began to draw. The result is truly stunning. »

In addition to this work, as an invitation to travel, Emmanuelle Troy offered spectators a musical change of scenery, from Spain to Mongolia via the Maghreb, Armenia and the steppes of Central Asia. As for Olivier Ka, he offered an extract from a show using drawing and storytelling, “Beirut, return to forgotten sources”, the city where he was born, which he left at the age of 4 and which he rediscovered at the age of 50.

At the end of the evening, the students, who came as spectators, were able to try out different musical instruments and talk to the artists.
