The Hollywood star revealed this Monday the first images of the eighth part of the adventures of Ethan Hunt. The film will be released in May 2025.
He runs, he runs, Tom Cruise. Hanging on a plane, underwater, in a car at full speed… Ethan Hunt is back for new, always crazy stunts. A year and a half after the release of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoningthe eighth installment of the franchise, Paramount unveiled its first trailer this Monday.
The story of Mission Impossible 8directed like the three previous parts of the saga by Christopher McQuarrie, is still unknown. If the film is a direct sequel to Dead Reckoningit will not be titled Dead Reckoning Part 2.
Released in July 2023, Mission Impossible 7 followed the investigation of Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his allies, between Rome and Abu Dhabi, to stop the “Entity”, an artificial intelligence machine capable of destroying the world.
Up to 80 years old
The cast brings together actors and actresses who already appeared in the previous part around Tom Cruise: Henry Czerny, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff and Vanessa Kirby.
Other comedians have recently joined them: Tramell Tillman (Severance), Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) et Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso). Release scheduled for May 25, 2025.
We do not know if this eighth Mission Impossible will be the last episode of the franchise. Tom Cruise plans to continue filming until he is 80, he revealed last year in an interview with Sydney Morning Herald.
