Gérard Jugnot returned to the death of his comrade from Splendid, Michel Blanc, evoking the memory of “Mich-Mich”, the tributes and their last joint project.
After tears and mourning, life returns to normal for the members of the Splendid troupe, one month after the death of Michel Blanc. Gérard Jugnot, one of the first to react to the death of his comrade, is preparing to make his return to the screens with the film “We should have gone to Greece” which is released on November 13. Invited on radio and TV to promote it, the actor took the opportunity to evoke the memory of his friend, met on the benches of college.
“I met him in fourth grade, we hadn’t seen each other much for a while. […] but when we met again, like for the cover of Paris Match, we laughed like idiots ! » remembered Gérard Jugnot at the microphone of Bernard Montiel on RFM. The actor also spoke of his difficult mourning, a month after the death of the interpreter of Jean-Claude Duss, which occurred on October 3. “It’s fifty years of friendship… what can I say… except that it’s a bit early…” he declared with emotion.

Confidences repeated this Saturday, November 9 on the set of “C l’hebdo” broadcast on France 5, where Gérard Jugnot also returned to the circumstances in which he learned of the death of his comrade. “It’s Josiane [Balasko] who had called me… We had followed the adventures of his multiple heart attacks, and in the evening, he left” he recalled, adding that he received the fateful message as he was leaving the screening of a film, the irony of which was to be centered on mourning.

One last project at seven
Another revelation from Gérard Jugnot during his promotional marathon: the announcement of a final joint project carried out by the seven members of the Splendid troupe. Questioned on France 2 in the “Télématin” show on November 7, the actor revealed that “there is a book that is going to come out. This is very important. It was the last thing he participated in. »
The book, to be published at the end of November, will bring together all the old photos of Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, Bruno Moynot, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Michel Blanc and Thierry Lhermitte. It is precisely the latter who is at the origin of this joint project, the profits of which will be donated to medical research.

“Everyone responded to their photos and it’s a pretty wonderful book that I find very beautiful,” explained Gérard Jugnot before answering a question about the tributes paid to his former comrade, saying that he didn’t like everything.
“There was just one little thing that bothered me, which was that we talked a lot about Jean-Claude Dusse, Jean-Claude Dusse who was really his creation, it was he who wrote it, who built it. He assumed it, but he did lots of other things that were much deeper and more cultural,” lamented Gérard Jugnot, visibly disinclined to sing “when will I see you again?” » in the St-Eustache church.
