The Swiss Series Award for “Les Indociles”

The television series “Les Indociles” wins a national distinction. The team which directed and wrote the five episodes, including Jura resident Camille Rebetez, received the Swiss Series Award on Friday evening. The prize was awarded as part of the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF). Twelve other series were in the running for this award worth 20,000 francs which is awarded by an international jury. The latter is notably made up of representatives of several European television channels, such as Canal+ in or RTBF in Belgium. “It’s a surprise, because I don’t belong to the world of cinema and series. I had the opportunity to develop this project and follow it for five years. But it’s a world that is unknown to me,” says screenwriter Camille Rebetez who created the comic strip with artist Pitch Comment.

A story that pleased

This prize, which was awarded for the first time, rewards the screenplay. “It’s very gratifying, because this story started in 2010 from a desire to tell an epic story spanning several generations in the canton of Jura, a little outside of official history,” explains Camille Rebetez. The latter underlines that the originality of the statement was praised by the jury, in particular the question of Swiss policy related to drugs.

A sequel to the comic strip

Camille Rebetez is also currently working with Pitch Comment to prepare a sequel to the comic strip. “The public asked us what happened to these young people. We will surely start with three albums,” Camille Rebetez told us. The release of the first volume is planned for the end of next year. /alr
