Dua Lipa cancels Indonesian leg of Asia tour over security concerns

In Jakarta, the singer was to perform at the Indonesia Arena which can accommodate some 16,500 spectators.

Dua Lipa announced on the evening of November 8 the cancellation of the Indonesian leg of her Asian tour scheduled for Saturday, citing security concerns surrounding the staging of her concert. “It breaks my heart to say that I will not be able to perform in Jakarta on Saturday”wrote the British-Albanian on her Instagram account.

“I am here in your great country and ready to perform, but I am disgusted to say that it was decided that it was not safe to go ahead with the show as there are security issues with the staging “added the 29-year-old singer. The concert was to take place at the Indonesia Arena, which seats some 16,500 people.

“I was looking forward to this evening so much and it really saddens me (…), especially after such a long wait since my last performance in Jakarta,” lamented the star. Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and has a population of around 280 million.

Dua Lipa comes out of a stopover in Singapore mid-week. His Asian tour is scheduled to continue from Wednesday in the Philippines, before Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, India and South Korea.
