A dark story told with intensity. « Hannah » East a play written and performed by Karoline Frick-Scholz and directed by Adèle Favier. Alone on stagethe actress gives life to a character who lives behind the scenes of the theater, a costume designer which reveals his daily life and his reflections. Through a 50-minute monologue, Hannah shares fragments of her life, her memories and the secrets of her profession, which pushed her to stay in the shadows to make others shine. This show, produced by the UMĀ Association, offers the public the opportunity to discover an often overlooked world, that of the “shadow professions” which support theatrical art.
In a setting that evokes a workshop frozen in time, Hannah presents herself to an audience who has been waiting since “well past 4 p.m.”. She begins to share her thoughts and memories. Her speech oscillates between anecdotes about her work as a costume designer and more personal reflections on the solitude, silence and oblivion she faces.

Two performances of “Hannah” are scheduled near Montpellier. The first will take place this Friday November 8, 2024 at 8 p.m., at the MJC in Castelnau-le-Lez. Reservations for this evening can be made online. The second performance will be held this Saturday, November 16 at 9 p.m., at the Strapontin, in Poussan. Places for this date are also available.
“Hannah” is a play accessible to a wide audience, although the reflections discussed will particularly resonate with those aged 12 and over. With intimate acting and poetic text, Karoline Frick-Scholz is aimed at all those interested in the workings of the stage and the discreet lives that work behind the scenes. To extend the adventure beyond the performances, the text of “Hannah” will soon be published by Éditions ThoT. On the occasion of the first performance on November 8, a subscription system will be set up, allowing spectators to purchase the work.
