Who is Lee Greenwood, the country singer of Donald Trump’s victory anthem?

The Republican candidate celebrated his second term to the sound of the song God Bless The U.S.A., taken over by its creator, a star in the United States.

It all ends in country music for the lucky Republican candidate. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, November 6, Donald Trump therefore became the 47e president of the United States. To the applause of his fervent supporters, the politician entered the stage of the West Palm Beach Convention Center with his family and friends to the sound of God Bless The U.S.Aa cult title by the popular US country singer, Lee Greenwood.

This song with patriotic overtones was created in 1984. At the time, the 42-year-old author explained that he had written it in reaction to the affair of Korean Air Lines flight 007. As a reminder, the 1is September 1983, the Boeing 747 linking New York to Seoul was shot down by a Soviet fighter plane while flying over prohibited airspace. In his verses and refrains, this Christian conservative expressed his « pride in being American » and blessed his country « from the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee to the plains of Texas ».

Born in 1942 in California, Lee Greenwood distinguished himself very early in the country genre, very popular across the Atlantic.
