An investigation into “sexual harassment aggravated by the use of a digital or electronic medium” was opened by the Sainte-Etienne public prosecutor’s office against the singer Slimane, BFMTV learned this Thursday, November 7.
The investigation was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division of the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police of the Loire, indicated the public prosecutor of Saint-Etienne in a press release.
This investigation was opened after the filing of a complaint for sexual harassment against the singer. On Monday, October 28, a former tour technician for singer Slimane filed a complaint in Saint-Etienne for alleged acts of “sexual harassment” against the artist.
On the sidelines of a concert by the singer
The facts allegedly took place last December on the sidelines of a concert by the singer at the Zénith in Saint-Étienne. According to a source close to the matter at BFMTV, the events took place in two stages on the “Cupidon Tour” which began 18 days earlier: on December 17, 2023, after the Slimane concert, then on the night of the 17th to the 18th. December.
The Saint-Etienne prosecutor was waiting to have “elements of evidence” from the complainant’s lawyer before deciding to open an investigation.
