The scourge of school bullying
She is a fan of Star Ac! After inviting the students to sing at the Élysée last year, Brigitte Macron came to visit the new class at the Château de Dammarie-les-Lys this Tuesday. With a specific objective: to address young viewers through them as part of national awareness week about the scourge of school bullying. “This is the first subject that arrived on my desk, when Emmanuel became president“, she reminded them straight away.
“Maybe because I am a teacher, I have received a lot of letters from students“, she told Masséo, Emma and their comrades. “I am surprised to see how young it starts, from primary school, and with what force. When I see the violence of the messages they send to each other, I am totally upset (…) For some, it’s a moment in their life. For others, it will leave a marks.”
Marguerite told him about her own experience
At the Château, Brigitte Macron was accompanied by Michael Goldman and Justine Atlan, the general director of the e-Enfance association which supervises the toll-free number 3018 and a dedicated application. “Parents call a lot, but young people call less“, she emphasized. “Psychologists and lawyers are there to answer you. They are there to help you and support you. And above all to solve the problem.”
Among the attentive students, Marguerite spoke about her personal case, wondering about the training of the teaching staff on this issue. “I experienced this in sixth grade, during a school trip, and nothing was done. It’s borderline if I wasn’t so mocked and judged by the teachers themselves (…) Subsequently, I gave theater lessons to children in a primary school. And I don’t think you don’t see it when you’re a teacher. We see everything.”

Sensitive to the words of the young candidate, Brigitte Macron recalled that specific training would be compulsory from the next school year. From this Thursday and until November 15, teachers are invited to deliver questionnaires to students from CE2 to Terminale, to measure whether they are likely to be victims of harassment.
