James Van Der Beek diagnosed with colorectal cancer

American actor, known for his role in the series Dawsonhad planned to reveal his illness in the magazine People but he was taken by surprise by the TMZ site.

For several years now, and cinema personalities have no longer hesitated to reveal that they are ill. Jean-Pierre Pernaut, Florent Pagny, Michel Cymes, Émilie Dequenne, Kate Middleton, Caroline Receveur and even Patrick Sébastien have revealed that they suffer from cancer. But sometimes, some are taken by surprise by the press. This is the case of James Van Der Beek.

This Sunday, November 3, the American site TMZ revealed that the actor, known for his role in Dawson has colorectal cancer. Following the publication of this article, James Van Der Beek made a point of posting a long message on his Instagram account to explain his silence.

“It's cancer…he began. Every year, approximately 2 billion people worldwide receive this diagnosis. And I'm one of them. There is no manual for announcing these things, but I planned to talk about it at length with the magazine People soon… to raise awareness and tell my story my way. But that plan had to be changed early this morning when I was informed that a tabloid was going to publish the information.he wrote.

In his message, this 47-year-old father of six does not reveal how long he has been suffering from his cancer. “I have dealt with this privately until now, undergoing treatment and focusing on my health more carefully than ever before. I'm in a good situation and I feel strong. It was a real initiation, and I will tell you more when I am ready”he only clarified.

In conclusion, James Van Der Beek wished to apologize to his loved ones and his fans to whom “he had planned to [se] entrust”. “None of this process happened on the schedule I had imagined…he lamented. But we evolve with the process, taking each surprise as a signpost, pointing us to a greater destiny than we would have discovered without divine intervention.”
