In Auray, Romain Colucci touched by the show of the troupe À Portée d’Chœur

Is this the first time you’ve come to the À Portée d’Chœur show?

Yes, this is a first for me. I recently discovered the existence of the association and I was impressed by their involvement. So I wanted to come see them.

How did you discover the existence of À Portée d’Chœur?

I came to support the collection for the Restos du coeur last March in . That’s where I heard about the Auray bastard babies and their incredible show. What impressed me was the fidelity and longevity of this show which has survived the years, including that of covid, without faltering, and which on the contrary continues to grow.

Why come this year?

I said to myself that a show that has been running for 25 years necessarily has a very good recipe, precepts that work, and that just like the newbies who are starting out, those who have been involved for many years must be encouraged . I was curious to see the work of these volunteers. I already came to a rehearsal in October. I saw the incredible atmosphere that reigns in this association.

What appeals to you about this show?

The quality of these amateurs who are capable of giving a lot of time for a cause that is close to their hearts. I really admire their involvement. They are there almost all year round, almost every weekend with the exception of a few at the end of the year and during the summer. They have qualities of heart and talent.

So if you have time, come, if you have money, give, and if you have both, even better!

They are capable of mobilizing a lot of people around them and above all filling provincial venues like pros. They are stunning. They create a new show every year. What’s also great is that it’s intergenerational. Both on stage and in the audience. It’s a great celebration and a human adventure that touches me a lot. I rediscovered the spirit of the Café de la gare, when my father was just starting out. This solidarity is exceptional. They are the only ones in to have created their song. It’s really great.

What message do you want to send today?

The volunteer’s salary is conviviality. It’s when you start helping that you become better. Today, the Restaurants need volunteers more than ever, without them nothing would be possible. The number of people welcomed continues to increase, as does the number of meals distributed. 1.6 million in Morbihan last year. So if you have time, come, if you have money, give, and if you have both, even better!

Practical
