The photographs in this exhibition are also vvisible in the public garden behind the sports hall. This is a project solidarity art carried by the Couleurs association.
An artistic project in Essaouira
The project took place at Essaouira (Morocco) in February 2023. Jérémy Caillé, the leader of this project, is the president of the Couleurs association, founded in 2020. He has contacts with other artists such as Abdelaziz Bountywho collaborated after seeing Jérémy’s first project at Madagascar.
In February 2023, Jérémy Caillé left for Essaouira to three weeksintervening in different neighborhoods with children of the population locale.
Twelve frescoes were inaugurated, and the exhibition presents 25 photos of these projectshighlighting highlights and environments. The association counts five artists members and around twenty members, including Julie Mainguet, who uses the technique of cyanotype.
The importance of diffusion
Alain Vadepied, deputy mayor, underlined “the importance of circulating this exhibition in high schools and schools”.
Jeremy Caillé talked about “leaving a trace,” and to intervene in new ways for future projects, exploring “new territories”. He also mentioned the importance of supply locally for future projects, rather than transporting the equipment.
Funding
Funding is done through other projects in France. During the questions and answers with the public, it was clarified that the paint comes from a company located in Rochefort.
THE collections published by the association, such as the one on Morocco at 10 € and the one on Madagascar at €20, entitled “Maro Loko” (full of colors in Malagasy) are available to order from their website.
The 7-minute documentary “Bzaf D Iwan – Morocco Documentary” is visible on YouTube. The exhibition should be present until December 15, 2024.
