Double Face: Vladimir Cosma, genius composer

Last Sunday, Thomas Dutronc was the guest of the show Double Face, hosted by Valérie Ogiez and Isabelle Bertolini. The opportunity for him to present his latest album, “It’s never too late”, released on September 13.

A talented guitarist and instrumentalist, Thomas Dutronc has always been able to captivate his audience. Before getting into music, he had a passion for photography and for a time aspired to become a director. However, it was the guitar and the song that propelled him into the spotlight.

With his new opus, “It’s never too late”, Thomas Dutronc celebrates joy and love, even in the face of recent trials, notably the death of his mother, the singer Françoise Hardy. This 3rd studio album is distinguished by resolutely pop sounds. It was produced by Jon Kelly, the producer of Paul McCartney and Kate Bush in London.

This new opus is intended to be more introspective and intimate than his previous creations. Thomas Dutronc surprises by moving away from gypsy jazz, a style that he has long defended with pride on the French-speaking scene. He thus reveals a new facet of his talent: singing, which takes a central place in this opus.

Although his last album of original songs dates back to “Eternels, until tomorrow” in 2015, Thomas Dutronc has not remained inactive over the past 9 years. He released an album of covers entitled “Frenchy” and also embarked on a duo tour with his father, Jacques Dutronc.

Thomas Dutronc’s new album, available since September 13, is an invitation to enjoy the little joys of life. “It’s never too late” is also the title of one of the singles from the album:
