Cowboys honored earlier this week
The First Gala and the ADISQ Industry Gala presented several trophies ahead of the ceremony on Sunday, Wednesday.
The Cowboys Fringants got their hands on the three Félixes for which he was nominated during the First Gala.
Their album Pub Royalwhich singer Karl Tremblay recorded in the last months of his life before his death in November 2023, was crowned alternative album of the year and album of the year according to the critics’ choice.
The music video accompanying the song Let fine you showa poignant piece lasting more than seven minutes, was crowned video of the year. The song, where Tremblay speaks of his imminent death with the words of his partner Jean-François Pauzé, is nominated for song of the year.
The group Karkwa won a trophy at the Premier gala, that of rock album of the year for In the secondwhile pop singer Charlotte Cardin saw her album 99 Nights being chosen the English-speaking album of the year.
Singer Elisapie, who made a lot of noise with her album of covers of popular Inuktitut songs, received the Félix for album of reinterpretations of the year. Inuktitut also obtained three statuettes at the Industry Gala.
