Conviviality, meetings and exchanges, this is the credo of the Crossroads Festival, organized by the BIC (Cultural Intervention Brigade). Since 2016, the festival has seen many talents take flight. Among them, Kimberose, It It Anita, Weekend Affair and the Lille group Ladaniva. This year, the event returns for its ninth edition. And the operation remains unchanged. After days devoted to professional meetings, showcases – hear mini-concerts with a professional vocation here – will take place in different rooms.
Diversity, inclusion and music
« We wanted to represent the musical scene in all its diversity and contemporaneity » explains Benjamin Mialot, programmer of 4-Écluses and artistic advisor for the festival. So expect to listen to pop, but also rap, Mediterranean techno, pop-groove, rock, ambient-techno… Above all, expect not to know any names on the bill. Because the Crossroads festival serves, above all, as a springboard for emerging artists like the Lille post-metal group Queen (Ares).
On stage, artists and groups will only have thirty minutes to promote their musical creations. On the program this year, twenty-one artistic projects including eight from Hauts-de-France. The casting is also open to the rest of France (10 projects) and internationally (3 Belgian groups).
