After having held the position of administrator at the Passerelle contemporary art center in the Saint-Martin district of Brest, Maïwenn Thominot has just taken over the administrative leadership of West Coastthe association which organizes the Brest European Short Film Festival. With people at the heart of its concerns.

She gives us her favorites in the city of Ponant.

THE SAINT-MARTIN DISTRICT

For its varied aspects

I discovered it when I arrived in Brest for my studies in 2011. I then worked there for nine years.

I have a sentimental connection to this lively, popular, friendly place with different atmospheres that coexist well.

THE KERINOU MARKET AND KAFKERIN

For conviviality

I go to the Kérinou market on Saturday morning. A place of regulars and local producers, neither too big nor too small.

I then like to have my coffee at Kafkerin, a very active community café.

THE PEN-AR-STREAT GYMNASS

For roller derby

It is a team contact sport on roller skates. I’ve been doing it for a few years and that’s where I mainly train with my club, Roller Derby Brest.

We are organizing a roller disco in February 2025 in the Capucins workshops. This will be the time to discover this great sport for those who do not know it.

I like lichouseries and pastries in general. I’m a fan of their vanilla pecan slaw recipe. And a little extra, it is also a tea room which allows you to taste it on site.
