“It’s tiiiiiiiiiime.” The singer of the most famous Christmas carol did not miss the famous tradition: after Halloween on October 31, Mariah Carey published a video on her Instagram account singing her essential hit All I want for Christmas is youdeclaring the end-of-year holiday season open.
But just before, the Queen of Christmas used her notoriety in a political framework. In another video posted on her account a little earlier, as she begins to sing her famous song, which is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, she is interrupted by actress Kerry Washington who calls on Americans to go vote for the presidential election.
“No, no, no! It’s not your season yet, Mariah. It’s voting season,” we hear him say. Questioned by the actress, Mariah Carey confirms that she is registered on the electoral roll and has planned to vote on November 5. “All that’s missing is you”, conclude the two women in unison on the hit All I Want for Christmas is You.
They do not give voting instructions but Kerry Washington has supported Kamala Harris since the start of the campaign. Mariah Carey, for her part, did not specify her intention to vote for the presidential election but celebrated Christmas with her twins in the company of Joe Biden and the Democratic candidate in 2023, at the White House.
