For 15 days, the NeufNeuf Festival leads the way

the essential
For its 15th edition, the NeufNeuf Festival dedicated to dance continues its objective of highlighting emerging talents. The choreographers and dancers of tomorrow are among the proposals put in place by Samuel Mathieu, artistic director of the event, and his team.

The fifteenth edition of the NeufNeuf Festival is full of enthusiasm! These days, the abundance of this annual program focused on choreographic emergence never tires of surprising and challenging. Its artistic director, Samuel Mathieu, is delighted with the presence of a loyal audience: “The festival is strengthening, becoming more impactful, because we have worked on several axes, with emergence as a common thread both to detect the new writings that are emerging in today’s dance and to know what our references will be in 10-15 years. So we invited Pierre Pontvianne or Emmanuel Eggermont, who are truly leading choreographers today in the choreographic world, who set a precedent for a lot of things and who have this writing capacity. I am also thinking of Valentin Mériot, a pure product trained at the Choreographic Development Center. But also Lisanne Goodhue or Pauline Weidmann to see in Martres-Tolosane, whom we will accompany for a territorial residency next year. »

The freedom and simplicity of the young creation will thus innervate the event for more than two weeks in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne.

Route and highlights

“Marathon!” » by Valentin Mériot (Wednesday 6 at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday 7 at 7 p.m. at the Bellegarde cultural center) and “So Slow” by Romain Jarry and Loïc Varanguien de Villepin (same day at 9 p.m. at the Ring) will open the ball of proposals, a weekend end in the countryside and the “Superformances” cycle in collaboration with the Supernova festival at the Sorano theater, will complete it. “These are journeys in fact,” continues Samuel Mathieu, “we wanted it to be a real event for everyone to experience joyful moments, in sharing. We have small proposals, it’s very friendly. And we also have the day of November 16 with three proposals (Lisanne Goodhue and Pauline Weidmann, Marlène Rostaing from 3 p.m.) at the Ring and then we take a bus to reach to see “Œ” by Pierre Pontivianne (at 8:30 p.m. at Escale ) which is truly a piece that is becoming a master in the choreographic world. »
Abundant, thrilling, innovative, this 15e edition of the NeufNeuf Festival opens its arms wide to those who are passionate about the dance of tomorrow but also to those who want to understand its perpetually evolving habits and customs…
