It has been breaking records since its installation in June at the Men’s Abbey in (). But be careful, the exhibition Joséphine Baker, free and committed carried out in partnership with Matchis experiencing its last week: it will end on Sunday November 3, 2024.

In the heart of the scriptorium room, more than thirty photos honor the American artist who joined the resistance during the Second World War.

More than 60,000 visitors

Illuminated by informative texts, these photos in color or black and white show the different facets of Joséphine Baker, from her various commitments to her life as an artist. The one who sang I have two loves stood out in particular for her fight for civil rights. African American who became French in 1937, she was pantheonized in 2021.
