The SOS Racisme association denounces “racist attacks” suffered by Sabah Aib, Miss -Pas-

The association deplored “hateful” comments referring to “Algerian and Moroccan origins that are clearly disqualifying in the eyes of the perpetrators of these attacks” and called for “an exemplary sanction”.

The SOS Racisme association declared, Friday October 25, that it had reported to the courts the “racist attacks” suffered by Sabah Aib, just elected Miss Nord Pas-de-Calais. The association, bringing its “support” in Sabah Aib, notably deplored comments “hateful” dismissing the beauty queen “of Algerian and Moroccan origins that are clearly disqualifying in the eyes of the perpetrators of these attacks” and called to “an exemplary sanction” and to continue the “fight against these online hate messages”.

Born in Besançon and already crowned Miss Villeneuve-d'Ascq (North), Sabah Aib was crowned beauty queen of all of Nord-Pas-de-Calais on October 19. The 18-year-old young woman denounced on Instagram, a few days later, a “wave of racist hatred on social networks due to [ses] origins”. “I was born in , just like my parents, we consider ourselves first and foremost French”she stressed. “My origins are part of my history, but do not define who I am”she recalled, emphasizing that her “election is proof that our region is rich in diversity”.
