Noir offers a first Listed title to Alicja Karkosa

Three years to the day after his first victory in with Mang’sekoon October 20, 2021 in Deauville, Alicja Karkosa won her first Listed thanks to Noir in the Prix Casimir Delamarre (Listed). Arriving from Poland in the summer he was three years old, Noir had participated in numerous listed races without managing to finish. Those around him have chosen to move down the category to the level of major handicaps. And it worked since the filly ran in progress each time until winning last September 15 over the 2,000 meters at Longchamp, leaving a very nice impression. Back in the listeds against tough British opposition, the representative of Ryszard and Andrzej Zielinski as well as his trainer did not tremble. Waiting at the rear, Noir then came into the open on the straight and showed herself to be very courageous in resisting the attack from Zarabandawhich fails by only a head. Miss Beautifulwho was returning to France, completed the podium. After passing the post, the winning jockey Benjamin Marie (Editor’s note: son of trotter trainer Bruno Marie) burst out with joy, winning the third Listed of his career, after the Hampton Prize (Stormbringer) in Chantilly and the Premio Bessero (Ad Merajj) in Milan. Alicja Karkosa was also delighted: “It’s great to be able to win against all these British competitors. She made progress during attempts at quinté level. Noir had won easily last time, which convinced me to try again at Listed level. The filly was in good shape and had taken well in her last race. We were hoping for black guys, and winning is even better. The owners, the Zielinski family, have trusted me since I started in France. The filly is listed for sale so we will see for next year.”
