From October 7 to 13, the second edition of the festival « Bon ! » took place in Bordeaux. This gourmet event, sponsored by Thierry Marxwant to raise awareness among the people of Bordeaux to eat better.
This year, the festival organized the competition to elect the best chocolatine in Gironde. 30 professionals and 10 apprentices competed for this first edition orchestrated by the federation of artisan bakers and bakers-pastry chefs of the department.
An award-winning Bordeaux brand
The jury chaired by Vivien Duranda starred chef, was responsible for deciding between the pastries created by the candidates. In total, 40 chocolatines were tasted during this competition. After deliberation, it is “Grain” bakery who won the title of best chocolatine in Gironde.
Located at 43 rue Capdeville, it was represented by Vincent Capegras. Among apprentices, it is Maxence Jourdain who won first prize. He works on the side of “ Renaissance bread » in Bordeaux.
Grain, a bakery opening in 2021
The winning bakery was born in September 2021 in the Saint-Seurin district in Bordeaux. They are Nicolas Gruel, boulanger champion d’Europe et France 2019 and Jean-Philippe Battesti, Corsican pastry chefwho are at the origin of this brand.
A trophy which further enhances the reputation of the store.
