[VIDÉO] Star of “The Collection”: “I now know when to stop and when to let go” – Caroline Néron

While starring in the movie Punch The Goddess of Fire FliesCaroline Néron gave herself the necessary momentum to bounce back, just as her jewelry empire was collapsing.

Two months after the bankruptcy of her business on January 8, 2019, the actress, singer and entrepreneur was “offered the chance to play a destroyed mother” in the feature film by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette.

“When the phone rang, I was curled up on my couch, depressed. I took it as a sign of life, in the sense that it’s as if the environment came back to get me, which is what I wanted, even if I was in too much of a dark place to think about that. “, she said in an interview.

She adores her only son, Kevin [Charles-Aubey Houde]and without saying that she abandoned him, she left him with her brother Stéphane [Claude Legault]which explains why he became a debt collector,” summarized the actress, who, more than in her beginnings, takes pleasure in “constructing” her characters so that no two are alike.

“No danger that people see in Suzanne, in The collectionClaude Coupal that I play in STAT!».

A strong woman

In this criminal universe, Caroline Néron is delighted to play a woman who does not allow herself to be imposed on by men.

“Suzanne has a lot of character. She doesn’t fear anyone, except maybe Santa. Suzanne even beats up a guy to protect a young girl. For me, it was my feminist moment of the series.”

According to Caroline Néron, The collectionwhich is produced by Fair-Play, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, “fulfills many desires” she has as a performer with highly emotional scenes.

“There is a lot of intensity in my character. At the same time, there is a language that is not clean. I sacrificed my life while filming! In fact, I was so sacred that it affected my life,” she said with a laugh.

In the series, Caroline Néron plays Suzanne at 30 and 50 years old.

“We played with hair, evolving looks, more 2000s makeup versus something more natural at 50. I wanted her to be rock, like motorcycle girls who have short coats, tight jeans and poking breasts. It looks like I have bigger breasts in The collection.” (laughs)

Give yourself from day one

Caroline Néron knew all her lines by heart on the first day of filming.

“I like to know my texts so much that I can give myself to the director, he can do what he wants with me and align me. I liked that Podz took me to another level: he suggested small details and since I was well prepared, I could concentrate on fine-tuning to make my character more complete.

She passes this work ethic on to her daughter, Emmanuelle Gagné-Néron, with whom she dreams of defending a “big drama” on screen. Emmanuelle was revealed in Rupturesthen we saw her in Alerts, District 31, Like chickens without a head et In Memory.

At 51, Caroline Néron has a host of dreams and aspirations in each sphere of her life.

“It’s maturity and age that make me understand more what is good for me and what is not. I now know when to stop and when to let go.”

She even speaks of a “renaissance” when she looks back five years. Since then, she has relaunched her acting career and got her jewelry business back on track, in addition to falling in love.

“There are so many beautiful things that have happened in my life, a lot of changes, including my boyfriend Luc who has been in my life for four years. He is an extraordinary man who my daughter adores. My ex too, Jean-Marc, the father of my daughter to whom I have become extremely close. He and his wife Nathalie introduced me to my boyfriend. We see each other regularly, we celebrate holidays together, it’s great, because I’m a family woman, I think I missed that and it’s important for my daughter.
