Mauges-sur-. Around 800 students visited the exhibition

A privileged location for most exhibitions, the Florentine abbey has experienced a peak in autumn attendance every year for more than a decade now: it is in fact the start of the “Enmirror of…” operation, which concerns today some 800 schoolchildren and college students from the town of Mauges-sur-.

As a reminder, the principle is as follows: an artist ensures the exhibition of his works at the abbey, or even like this year for Pierre Mabille also at Maison Julien-Gracq, now a partner.

Thus, since September 14 and until November 3, the artist presents “Not far from the river” and thus the different facets of his work.

Concerning “In the Mirror of…”, since mid-September, some 800 students from public and private primary schools and colleges have been invited to discover the world of the visual artist by going to the abbey, welcomed by Bénédicte Chotard, in charge of municipal cultural action. This was the case on Friday October 4 of 22 children from the Saint-Victor school in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Plaine.

After this first enlightenment, like their other classmates and until the end of October, the young Laurentians will have benefited from the visit, in class, of Pierre Mabille in order to know a little more about his art, without doubt without revealing any secrets whatever.

Third stage, this time with the sole support of their teachers: the students will try, drawing inspiration from what they have seen or heard, to create collective creations intended to be exhibited from March 15 to 30, 2025.
