What to do in the weekend of October 18 to 20, 2024?

The month of October is progressing and, like every Friday, we take stock of the activities and events planned in and its surroundings for this weekend.

The weekend event: L’Ancileviennerie

This weekend, the traditional Ancileviennerie of Annecy-le-Vieux is making a comeback, offering a rich and varied program to discover in the Albigny district:

  • Friday : Cinema evening with screening of the documentary film The Bertrand Farmdirected by Haut-Savoyard Gilles Perret. The latter, accompanied by co-director Marion Richoux, will be present to interact with the public after the film. A refreshment bar and cheese and charcuterie boards will be available on site.
  • SATURDAY : The Ancileviennerie evening will offer a menu with starter, main course and dessert, followed by a dance evening celebrating the 80s, hosted by the K2 group.
  • Sunday : Make way for the Ancileviennerie! A market will bring together 180 local artisans and producers, and you will also be able to discover farm animals. Don’t miss out on tasting delicious specialties such as bugnes, bidoyon, tomme blanche and boudin. To enrich your day, numerous activities await you: musical shows, demonstrations, strolls, humorous equestrian dressage shows, workshops, meetings with the Compagnons du Devoir… A meal under a marquee is available, upon reservation, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Practical information

  • Admission to the cinema screening, from 7 p.m., is free.
  • Seating for the cinema and the dance evening will be done according to order of arrival and the two evenings will take place under a heated marquee in the Belle-étoile car park in Annecy-le-Vieux.
  • The price for the dance evening with meal is €25 per person (limited number of places), and the opening will be at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Sunday lunch is priced at €20 per person, with tickets available for sale on site in front of the marquee from 10 a.m.
  • Car parks are available nearby, including the Sainte-Bernadette church car park, the Charles Bosson park car park and the Imperial car park.

All weekend

  • Genealogy and history forum – Cran-Gevrier. Come participate in the history and genealogy forum to discover more about your ancestors. Organized by the Marmottes de Savoie association, this event will bring together regional, national and international associations. Free – Saturday 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Salle René Honornoré.
  • Ski exchange – Seynod. Take advantage of a sale of alpine skiing, freeride, cross-country skiing, hiking and snowboard equipment. Specialists will be on hand to offer you personalized advice and support you in your purchases. Free – Boulodrome – Saturday 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Momiji – Seynod. Enjoy a weekend dedicated to Japanese animation with a program rich in activities: retrogaming, tastings, quizzes, workshops, karaoke and, of course, screenings to discover the best of this universe. Free (cinema screenings €5 to €7) – Saturday and Sunday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Auditorium Cinéma Seynod – Full program.
  • “Mer & Vigne” gastronomic fair – Annecy-le-Vieux. More than 80 exhibitors will be present to introduce you to their culinary specialties. Artisans, producers, breeders, processors and others come together to highlight the excellence of our local products. Three restaurant areas also await you on site. Invitation to download for free – Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Meeting area.
  • Autumn Fair – Mieussy. Every autumn, the entire village of Mieussy comes together for the traditional Autumn Fair. This event is the unmissable event of the season, with a huge garage sale, cider made on site, roasted chestnuts in the village square, as well as shows and street entertainment. Free – Saturday and Sunday – Village center.
  • Toquicimes – Megève. It’s not in Annecy, but Megève is hosting a new edition of the Toquicimes festival. This festival offers a rich program to celebrate mountain cuisine with masterclasses, tastings, demonstrations, workshops for children, various competitions, meetings with enthusiasts… Free – See the full program.

Friday October 18

  • Méli Mélo concert – Dingy-Saint-Clair. This concert will highlight the talent of local artists. Four groups which mix voices and instruments are on the program: the vocal quartet “Aquarelle”, Idy Ba and Paul Ketterer who will mix slam and piano, Mathéo and Fred for a guitar and vocals duo, as well as a jazz quintet. Free participation – From 8 p.m. – Salle Michel Doche.

Saturday October 19

  • Cinephilous –Annecy. Share a moment of cinema with your child at the media library. From 4:30 p.m., enjoy a session dedicated to the richness of youth cinema, with a thematic selection of short films suitable for the whole family. Free upon registration – 4:30 p.m./5:15 p.m. – Bonlieu Media Library.
  • Concert at the Brise Glace –Annecy. Tramhaus is an innovative post-punk band from Rotterdam. In just a few years, they have made their name known well beyond the borders of their hometown. This weekend, don’t miss their concert at Brise Glace. Full price €18.50/person – Online ticketing.
  • Sacred music concert – Cran-Gevrier. Attend the sacred music concert of the Heinrich Schütz Vocal Ensemble, entitled “Journey to Lübeck”. You will have the opportunity to appreciate the works of Dietrich Buxtehude and Johann Ludwig Bach, accompanied by five soloists and six baroque musicians. Full price €25/person – 8:30 p.m./10 p.m. – Église du Sacré-Cœur de Mosinges.
  • Pink October – Talloires-Montmin. The town is committed to Pink October with activities planned throughout the day. In the morning, the activities will take place on the beach side, while in the afternoon, they will take place on the Place du Lavoir. On the program: rowing, yoga, shiatsu, hikes, readings, concert and refreshment bar. Free – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Baroque musical itineraries – Thônes. On the program for this evening: a reception, a two-part conference entitled “Baroque art through the altarpiece and music”, and a concert of “Cantate Domino” presenting Italian sacred music from the 17th century. Free participation – From 7:15 p.m. – Saint-Maurice Church.
  • Concert – The Tower. Le Sou des écoles de La Tour is organizing a concert with the group Là-Bas, which will perform the greatest hits of Jean-Jacques Goldman. The funds raised will be used to finance a school trip planned at the end of the year. Fast food and bar on site. Price €18/adult – Online ticketing – From 8:30 p.m. – Salle de l’Oasis.
  • Alby Potter – Alby-sur-Chéran. Take out your wands and join the big game in the village of Hogwarts Alby. Explore the different places in the city while answering puzzles. Don’t forget to come dressed as a team. Free participation – 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – From 10 years old – Aux Petits Galets in Alby.
  • Sheep fair – Saint-Jean-D’Aulps. Come and discover a multitude of ewes, rams, lambs and ewe lambs representing around twenty different breeds, originating from local farms. On site, a refreshment bar and catering service will be available all day. Free – From 9 a.m. – Place Santec.

Sunday October 20

  • Initiation is coming – Sevrier. Take part in an initiation to Kizomba with Manon and Philippe from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a BSK evening hosted by DJ NICO from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This event is organized by the Annecy Bachata dance school. Bars and food service will be available on site. Free – From 6 p.m. – La Seiche.
  • Dancing Sunday – Saint-Jorioz. If you like dancing, go to Saint-Jorioz. DJ Stéphane will offer you varied rhythms, ranging from waltz to paso, including tango, bolero, rock, madison and salsa. Free – 2 p.m./7 p.m. – Salle Augustine Coutin.
  • Solidarity concert – Saint-Jorioz. Take part in the solidarity concert organized by the “Braises et Bourgeons de Fillinges” choir and the “Chœur de Sevrier”. The funds raised during this event will be used to support the reconstruction of a school in India. Free participation – At 5 p.m. – Saint-Nicolas Church.
  • 25th apple festival – Saint-Ferréol. Like every year, browse the garage sale stands, enjoy apple juice pressed on site and discover the delights of the small farmers’ market. Don’t miss the snack bar and the mini funfair either. Free – 8am/7pm.
  • Agricultural fair – Saint-Gervais. It’s not in Annecy either, but the Saint-Gervais fair, which celebrates local agriculture, is one of the most important in the region. You will have the opportunity to meet producers, taste local products and immerse yourself in mountain traditions. Free – City center.
