It is at the Sainte-Croix-Volvestre nursing home and at the invitation of the Bazis that Claudia Triozzi invites the public to the performed installation “For nothing but in the right way” on Thursday October 17 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dancer, choreographer but also teacher in art schools, Claudia spoke several times with the residents of the nursing home between March and October. Drawing on exercises from adapted gymnastics, she turned these sessions into real experimental workshops: “I try to get the participants to improvise, to activate their imagination.” The plots, the balloons… all the objects manipulated become pretexts to create a new space for the choreographer: “The space is what comes from dance, in a nursing home it is constructed by the objects that are there It is experimental work, which has no predefined goal, we create the conditions for something to happen and emerge.”
This work carried out in Sainte-Croix-Volvestre, Claudia Triozzi began it in 2021 in other nursing homes and hospitals: “After training, I became aware of what movement can be for a very elderly person. I also learned that the nursing home is a place to live despite sometimes very serious pathologies, there is a desire to live But there are also darker moments: the night, the time that struggles to pass. dance, I wanted to transmit a positive energy.” With the support of the management and staff of the Volp residence, it was possible for him to establish closer relationships with certain residents: “I was able to stay with them after the workshops, meet them in their rooms and to speak very freely with them, to establish a dialogue which was not necessarily aimed at creating meaning due to pathologies which affect their memory or their apprehension of language. It was exchanges ‘for nothing but in a good way’. ” Returning to the Volp residence on Thursday October 17, Claudia Triozzi will present to the public a preparatory stage of her work constructed from materials already collected: videos, sound and photographic montages… She will be accompanied by residents who wish and will be able to discuss with the public the uniqueness of his approach and his work.
