Sarah Paulson has difficulty detaching herself from her characters

Sarah Paulson would prefer to detach herself from her characters at the end of a day of filming. The ‘American Horror Story’ actress revealed to ‘Deadline’ that she’s not very good at leaving her characters at the door once she gets home.

“I wish I could say I’m one of those people who knows how to compartmentalize,” she said. I’m not a person who can play a particularly grueling scene or deal with something particularly upsetting and then wonder what she’s going to have for dinner. I’m not very good at this. I need to get better at that because the consequences of course mean I carry some of it around longer than I would like.”

Sarah Paulson noted that when she filmed her new psychological horror film “Hold Your Breath” in New Mexico, she was doing “nothing but the movie” and found it difficult to move on. to something else every evening. However, she found this involvement “useful”, as it allowed her to follow the complex history and mental state of her character Margaret.

In “Hold Your Breath,” Sarah Paulson plays a mother in 1930s Oklahoma who is convinced that a mysterious presence in the dust storms threatens her family. The film is available for streaming on Hulu/Disney+.
