Several people experience violent nausea after seeing a controversial play

“Sancta”, scheduled for seven performances in Stuttgart, is therefore not recommended for the faint of heart. Even more so since eighteen people suffered violent nausea after attending the play. “On Saturday, there were eight people and on Sunday, ten people were taken care of by our teams,” Sebastian Ebling, press manager of the German opera, explained to the Stuttgarter Zeitung. It was even necessary to call a doctor for three of these spectators.

“A woman left the screening saying she was having a panic attack”: this film is now prohibited for those under 18

Warnings warn spectators

As soon as the play was programmed, warnings accompanied the presentation of the work, indicating that explicit sexual acts were depicted. “In addition, we see real blood as well as fake blood, piercings (performed live, editor’s note) and injuries (inflicted on actors, editor’s note)”, we can read in this series of warnings. “We advise all spectators to read the warnings very carefully in advance, so that you know what to expect. And if in doubt during the performance, looking away can be helpful,” concluded Sebastian Ebling .

Florentina Holzinger is known for creating controversial works, where she often includes bloody and nude paintings, which can be violent. “Sancta” also received mixed reviews in Vienna, according to the Stuttgarter Zeitung. The religious world also considers it blasphemous.
