the essential
On October 12, the Les Bazis association offers a meeting with Danya Hammoud, choreographer in residence, for the screening of her film “Poreux”, followed by an exchange on her research work in movement.

As part of “Movements #2”, Contemporary dance in Couserans, co-organized by the live performance center of the ADECC, the Les Bazis association offers a meeting with the choreographer Danya Hammoud, in the hamlet of Bazis on October 12 in 7 p.m., around the documentary film “Porous”, which she shot with an 8-year-old girl. More generally, Poreux is a research project in motion. It aims to transmit, via a written choreographic score, a reflection on movement, while recording a conversation between two interacting bodies.

In the film which will be shown, Danya Hammoud guides movements to be performed very slowly and invites Reind to pay attention to all parts of the body, to be attentive to sensations, to describe the movement performed by explaining the positions of the parts of the body involved. . Throughout this porous encounter, the discussion around the movement subtly drifts towards reflections on the present, emotions, choices, risk-taking, as well as resistance and vulnerabilities. What is growing up? What does this teach us? What is life like for someone whose career is dance? The void you describe, is it filled with what? What is tenderness?

Danya Hammoud will be in residence at Les Bazis from October 12 to 19. There she will continue her research project “Scenes of life” in collaboration with people of various generations, from 14 to 85 years old, who would agree to converse with her and together, try to make visible a poetic and social reading of the place of the body in the stories of History that each person carries. No prerequisites in artistic practice are necessary. All you need is the curiosity to experience a situation together and let yourself be guided by a score of “daily” actions, which will change during the days spent together. Ideally, be available from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., from October 15 to 18, at Les Bazis.

The screening of “Poreux” is part of a partnership with La Place de la Danse, National Choreographic Development Center , and its “Dance in Territories” system.
